I love Christmas. I love the music, the lights, the decorations, the reminder that Jesus came to this Earth. I love, love, love Christmas.

When I was young, we used to have some “traditions” that we did every year around Christmas time.
1. We always decorated the tree as a family and watched a Christmas movie.
2. We ate quiche on Christmas Eve.
3. We went to a Christmas Eve service at our church and then came home and opened the majority of our gifts.
4. Santa always brought 1 or 2 “big” gifts and the rest of the presents were from family.
5. We left milk and cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.
The first few years of being married we usually went out of town to visit family for Christmas or we really didn’t care too much about making “traditions.” But now that we have a little one, that has all changed. And this is the first year in awhile that we are staying in Virginia for Christmas so I am looking forward to starting some of our own traditions.
The first tradition we started was decorating the tree. The day after Thanksgiving we got everything out of the shed and decorated the house and put up the tree. Here is a little glimpse of our first “tradition” in action-
Daddy and Maggie putting up the tree.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
 Christmas kisses!
Maggie wore this little headband last year! Yippee- a TRADITION!
Maggie liked wearing the garland around like a necklace.

Daddy put the lights on the tree!
We loved having Memaw here to decorate and start our new tradition with us!

It looked like Maggie had a train on a veil or something. It was too funny watching her walk around with this garland wrapped around her. She is ALL GIRL!

Do you see something that doesn’t belong? …..
 That’s right- it’s a Maggie!

A tradition William wanted to start was that he gets to put the star on the tree every year.
Maggie got to help!
I am so looking forward to this year and the years to come of making new traditions with my wonderful family. It’s such a wonderful time of year.
What are your traditions? Feel free to share them so I have some ideas:)
Happy Holidays!
