10 Minutes to a More Organized Bath Tub

We only have one full bath- so we have to share a bath tub with our daughter. This means sometimes early in the morning when I am still rubbing sleep out of my eyes, I step into the shower right onto a toy and I want to scream with pain.

So I needed a way to organized Maggie’s bath toys.

This is what the toys looked like before:

Image

So I decided to get some plastic baskets and put the toys in there. I went on Freecycle and got a shower curtain rod. I put that on the opposite side of the shower and then I hung the baskets from the shower curtain rods. Then I put the toys in the baskets.

Here is what the end product looked like:

Image

It’s pretty helpful and it keeps the toys up above the shower water, so the toys dry out a little easier.

10 Minutes to a More Organized Bow Collection

If you have a daughter, you may want to tune in for this one. I took 10 minutes to clean up and organize my daughter’s bow collection. She is the first girl in the family. First grandchild on both sides and she is a girl- she is totally spoiled! And she LOVES it:) And I love all of the adorable clothes and bows she has been given.

Her bow collection is rather large:

And it’s rather unorganized. I haven’t been putting bows in her hair lately because I just don’t feel like dealing with the going through the basket of bows. So it was time to organize.

First, as always, I took all the bows out and organized them by:

Headband
Flowers
Holidays
Clips
Velcro

The “organizing” part looked a little like this:

Then I put the headbands in and organized them like this:

Then I took all the clips and put them up on this organizer frame. I divided them by:

Matching bows
Holiday bows
Single Bows

The finished product looked like this:

10 Minutes to a More Organized Mud Room

We don’t really have a “mud room” per say….we have more of a….step. ha. I do, however, have a shelving unit where we keep shoes, mittens, hats, cook books, the dogs leash, etc. This shelving unit can get totally disorganized and become a complete mess. This is important for me to keep clean and neat because it’s the first thing people see when they walk in.

Here is what it looked like:

Image

Yesterday, I did the cook book shelf. Today I did the other shelves. I basically just straitened up the shoes on the bottom so they look nice. That only took a minute. Then I took the basket full of hats and mittens and emptied it. Then I folded them and took out the things Maggie has grown out of.

It looked like this:

Image

I sorted and folded, and made it look a lot more organized. This only took me a minute or two.

The top shelf had a basket with Tucker’s leash and other random dog supplies. I sorted through those and made it look neater. Then I organized my bible and notebook so it looked nicer.

The finished product looks like this:

10 Minutes to a More Organized Cook Book Collection

This tip actually only took 5 minutes, but it depends on how many cookbooks you have. I don’t have that many, but it’s amazing how messy the shelf still got. My cook book shelf looked like this:

Image

Pretty messy. So, like always, I took all of the cookbooks off the shelf so it was completely empty, and I started going through each cookbook. I got rid of a few because I just don’t use them. But the others I organized in order of height.

The end result looked like this:

10 Minutes to a More Organized Game Shelf

Do you love games as much as our family does? We LOVE playing games. This means that our board games get tossed around, pieces get misplaced, and the shelf looks like a total mess!

It looked like this…

Image

Finally, when I was trying to get a game down and they all fell on top of me, I decided that this was an area I really needed to focus on to organize.

First of all, you will need a chair and your little helper:

Image

So I took all the games out so the shelf was plain. Then I started going through them to make sure they all had the correct pieces. I got rid of the games that we do not play or that didn’t have all the pieces, and then organized the games I had left by size and shape.

The finished product looked like this:

Have fun playing games with your newly organized game shelf!
